Empowering Churches to Become Trauma-Informed Communities
At Faith on the Journey, we help churches become safe, supportive spaces for trauma recovery, allowing congregations to walk with their members through difficult experiences with compassion and care.
Our Trauma Healing Church program trains leaders to recognize signs of trauma and respond with compassion, and it establishes practices that transform churches into sanctuaries of hope and healing.

Why Trauma-Informed Care Matters for Churches
Churches are often where people turn first in times of deep pain, yet trauma can leave individuals feeling isolated and misunderstood. Without trauma-informed knowledge, church leaders may unintentionally miss opportunities to provide effective support, potentially causing further harm.
Our Goals for Trauma Healing Churches
Emotionally Safe Environments
Working with churches to create an emotionally safe culture that makes trauma survivors feel safe and avoids retraumatization.
Trauma-Informed Leadership
Train leaders to recognize and understand trauma so they can respond compassionately and effectively.
Trauma-Informed Network
Providing churches with qualified and trusted Christian trauma healing referral partners that they send their members to receive the support they need.

This trauma healing training was truly transformative. As a pastor, I now see even more clearly the importance of being trauma-informed to better support my congregation. Every Sunday, members bring a range of difficult experiences with them, and this training has given me the confidence, knowledge, and tools to minister to them effectively. I feel more equipped, not only as a pastor but as a friend to those in need of healing.
