Your equipping Path...

Participate in a Classic Healing Group

Before you can lead, you must experience the power of a healing group for yourself.  Your first step is to enroll in a 6-session healing group experience.

Complete Apprentice Equipping Sessions

After you complete the healing group, now it's time to learn the nuts and bolts of starting your own.  You will participate in 6-8 hours of LIVE online training to prepare you to start leading your first group.  Upon completing this training, you will be certified as an apprentice faciliator.

Organize Your First Group

As an apprentice, now it's time to organize your first healing group.  Your mentor will work with you to map out a plan for success.  Apprentices must facilitate two healing groups to continue to the next step.

Take an Advance Equipping Session

After you've completed your two healing groups, you will be invited to take an advance equipping session to review key concepts, strengthen your facilitation skills, and to prepare you to expand your impact.

Studying Gods Wordjpeg.jpeg
There is so much pain and suffering in the world today.  Now, more than ever, people need to know that there is healing and hope after trauma.

We are committed to providing you with the tools, teaching, and spiritual guidance you need to become equipped to help others on their trauma healing journey.

  • What is a healing group?
Our healing groups will provide you with a safe space to engage in discussions and biblical teachings over the course of several weeks. Throughout this process, we will guide you through spiritual rituals and interactive activities, while also providing room for conversations about “BIG” question related to God and suffering, grief and loss, and forgiveness. We offer additional lessons on resilence, childhood trauma, and generational trauma. Healing groups offer you an opportunity to develop an extended family among other believers, so by the conclusion of the group, you will leave feeling renewed, restored, and healed.
  • Are the healing groups in person or virtual?
Our healing groups are currently offered virtually. However, churches/organizations can request a private training for their group in person. Contact us via email for more information on pricing and requirements for the group at
  • What is the time commitment to become a facilitator?
It generally takes between 12 months to complete this entire process; however, it can happen much quicker based on how quickly the individual works towards coordinating their two healing groups. The first phase of the process (which includes the participation in the healing groups, and the initial apprentice equipping session) will be completed within three months. Once the participant completes their two healing groups, they can schedule a time to take their advance equipping session, and can complete the process.
  • When can I sign up for the next class?
FOTJ offers healing groups at different points throughout the year, and advertises upcoming classes on its email list and website. When the classes are full, we invite you to sign up for our healing group waitlist. Individuals on the waitlist will be notified when they can register for a healing group during the next open enrollment period. Organizations/Churches can request a private healing group training year-round. Contact us at to make the request.
  • Can I organize a private equipping session for my church?
Yes. FOTJ does organize private equipping sessions for churches and organizations who desire to train their team of lay leaders. A minimum of 8 participants are required in order to organize a private group. Please contact us at for more information.
  • What is your refund policy?
Participants are eligible for a full refund prior to the start of the program, less the cost of materials and supplies, shipping cost, and payment processing fees (which are non-refundable). Once they begin the cohort (by completing the first healing group session), they are no longer eligible for a refund. However, if extenuating circumstances prevent them from attending their scheduled healing group or equipping session, they can request to be reassigned to a different group. Participants will incur a $25.00 reassignment fee if they drop out of a group mid session, and request to be reassigned to a new group.
  • What lessons are included in the Classic Healing Group Session?
God and Suffering Hellping Heart Wounds Heal Being Heard Grief and Loss Forgiveness Bringing Our Pain to the Cross
  • How many sessions can I miss?
Please note that your attendance at each session is important. Attendance for the first session is mandatory. Participants who miss the first session, will be asked to register for a different session, or they can request a refund. Attendance is extremely important. If a participant misses more than two sessions, FOTJ will coordinate reassigning them to a different healing group, and they will incur a $25.00 reassignment fee. In addition to participant attendance, timeliness and active participation is also critical to the overall group experience. Since the groups are run virtually, FOTJ asks participants to make every effort to be “fully present” for the group (i.e. keeping your video on, refrain from multitasking during sessions, etc), so that you and others can get the most out of each session.
