My Inspiration for Becoming a Counselor...
I dropped out of high school at 15 years old after my parents divorced. My future was drowning in feelings of failure, bitterness, and fear, until God whispered my name. I know what its like to feel imprisoned by painful past experiences. I wrestled through abandonment, powerlessness, and fear. However I craved liberation from that imprisonment. What I discovered was God would take me on a journey of finding the key to my liberation. I realized my pain could inform my purpose to help others experience validation, healing, love, acceptance, and empowerment in Christ.
A Little More About Me...
I started a blog about turning lie’s painful moments into powerful launchpads of meaning and purpose. My wife and I met as teenagers and are now enjoying ten years of marriage. We have two kids who are a daily pleasant reminder of how blessed we are. I love to have fun and laugh. Formerly I used laughter as a way to hide my problems. Now, I laughed authentically, with full acceptance of my imperfections.
If You Are Nervous About Receiving Counseling...
You are in charge of the counseling process and can engage at the level you feel comfortable. I recognize trust needs to be earned, so we do not have to jump into the deep end of your story right away. We can take things slow.
Our time together is not about me fixing you. I want to invite you into a safe space to explore your own story, knowing you will not be judged but seen, heard, loved. We can journey together to find the healing you need. Our sessions are designed to leave you empowered. It is not my aim to do your healing work for you. Instead, I am here to help equip you with the tools to unearth the inner resources God has given you through the experiences in your story. I respect your dignity, unique human experience, and the personal power you have to reach your goals.
